2-Per i pellegrini super-affamati quando arrivano a Paradavella, c’è il Bar Mesón che prepara i boccadillo più grandi che abbia mai visto.

Today’s tips: 1) Know well the weather forecasts as it’s extremely important for a pilgrim. I suggest a government website which until now has never failed: http://www.aemet.es/en/eltiempo/prediccion/municipios/oviedo-id33044; 2) For the pilgrims reaching Paradavella feeling very hungry, there is the Bar Mesón that prepares the biggest boccadillo I have ever seen!

Anche oggi, tappa impegnativa. Sveglia alle 5 e partenza alle 6:45.

Also today it was a really tough route. We woke up at 5 and departed at 6:45.

Il leitmotiv di oggi è stata la nebbia. Non c’è stata tregua. Ci ha accompagnati ininterrottamente per 27 chilometri.

Today’s characteristic was the fog. Fog non-stop. The fog accompanied us for the whole 27 km.

Non ho potuto godere del bel panorama che sicuramente si nascondeva alla vista, ma camminare avvolti da un’atmosfera quasi onirica creata dalla nebbia per così tanti chilometri, ha un fascino particolare.

Due to fog, I couldn’t admire the for sure stunning scenery surrounding us, but walking for all these km enveloped by this foggy, dreamy atmosphere had its own charm.

Dopo poche centina di metri dalla partenza, quasi al buio, mi son accorta di avere, a causa della nebbia, i capelli e i vestiti gocciolanti d’acqua. Le piccole goccioline, pian piano scendevano dai capelli e cadevano sullo schermo del mio IPhone mentre lo consultavo per cercare il sentiero. Gli alberi poi, rilasciavano acqua come se piovesse. Per evitare il peggio, abbiamo dovuto fermarci per coprire lo zaino e metterci il berretto. Sapevamo di trovare fango, visto il temporale di ieri sera, per cui prima di partire abbiamo indossato le ghette, ma non avevamo previsto che la nebbia ci bagnasse anche capelli, vestiti e zaino.

After few hundred meters from our departure, almost in the dark, I realized I had, due to the fog, my hair and clothes dripping with water. The tiny water drops were sliding slowly down my hair and falling on my iPhone’s screen while I was looking at it to check our route. The trees were also dripping with water as if it was raining. In order to avoid the worst, we stopped to cover the backpack and put our rain resistant hats. This morning we put waterproof shoe cover as we were expecting mud due to yesterday evening’s thunderstorm, but we didn’t expect to get all wet from the fog!

Anche oggi, il continuo saliscendi non ci ha dato tregua. Abbiamo attraversato quattro alti: l’Alto di Montouto (1.025 m), l’Alto da Lastra (880 m), l’Alto de Fontaneira (930 m) e l’Alto de Carballin (890 m).

Also today the path was all ups and downs. We passed four peaks, the Alto de Montouto (1,025 m), Alto da Lastra (880 m), Alto de Fontaneira (930 m) and Alto de Carballin (890 m).

La stanchezza all’arrivo è subito mitigata dall’accoglienza dell’hotel che ci ospita, il “Moneda”. Una doccia corroborante e il pensiero di una ricca e gustosa cena mi rende felice.

The tiredness at the arrival is immediately smoothed by the warmth at the arrival at the hotel, today is at the “Moneda”. A warm and invigorating shower and a rich and delicious dinner makes me happy.

Domani avremo una tappa di relax, meno male!
